Perinatal Mental Health
Pregnancy and the postpartum period can bring significant emotional and psychological shifts. I have specialized training in the treatment of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs), occurring both during pregnancy and postpartum. Common perinatal mental health concerns include persistent worry about baby’s safety; feeling emotionally disconnected from self and/or baby; distressing intrusive thoughts; identity disruption in transition to motherhood.
Other related concerns include fertility stress; pregnancy loss; birth trauma, premature birth and NICU stays; and sibling preparation.
